Summary:
|
The proposal creates a one-year pilot program for up to 20 pre-K students who meet the eligibility requirements to receive after school care at no cost to the families. Mountain View and Woodbrook Elementary Schools will serve as the host sites to accommodate up to ten students. A lottery system will assist in the selection process of the students. Mountain View will offer an extension to the regular school day program under the direction of the school administration. The Woodbrook administration will partner with the Extended Day Enrichment Program Director to coordinate staffing, program planning, and program evaluation.

To implement a pilot program to examine the benefits of a school managed versus an Extended Day Enrichment initiative, the sustainability of long term funding, and expansion feasibility to all elementary schools.
