Summary: Work-Based Learning (WBL) is the alignment of classroom and workplace learning; application of academic, technical, and employability skills in a work setting; and support from classroom or workplace mentors (Career & Technical Education, USDOE: https://cte.ed.gov/wbltoolkit/). WBL is a critical strategy in preparing students for 21st century jobs and in making connections to career pathways that lead to meaningful postsecondary experiences and employment. Through WBL experiences (i.e. internships, externships, credentialing, etc.), students become aware of multiple paths toward college and career. This agenda item is an update on WBL progress.
