Summary:
Planning is underway for additions at Mountain View Elementary that will meet the current needs of the school. The additions will expand the cafeteria, add six classrooms, several resource rooms, and restrooms. The parking lot will be enlarged and the bus loop will be separated from the parent pick-up and drop-off for safety. Outdoor learning spaces and playgrounds will also be renovated and enlarged.

At this time, staff recommends proceeding with the addition design to prepare for opening in the Fall of 2023, and discussing supplemental funding to meet the current construction market conditions. The addition will be important for equity and parity for the students at Mountain View Elementary, and will allow them to be part of the school community, within the building for many years.
 
Funding:
Mountain View Elementary Addition project design is funded in the Capital Improvements Program, starting in the 2021-2022 school year budget.  
Recommendation
It is recommended that the attached schematic design documents are approved and to proceed with design.
