Summary:
|
The Division's Strategic Plan directs us to focus on affirming and empowering communities for active engagement in our school community. A chosen strategy is to cultivate and maintain partnerships with local organizations to support increased diversity.
ACPS has established a partnership with the Virginia Tribal Education Consortium to: 1. Recruit, retain, and provide professional development to staff for supporting Native American/Virginia Indian students to achieve high outcomes. 2. Review and make recommendations on curriculum to promote accurate, respectful, and inclusive representation of Native American/Virginia Indian identities and perspectives. 3. Monitor Native American/Indian student engagement, achievement, and well-being to seek equitable opportunities and outcomes, from pre-K through post-High School, focusing on career pathways and technical education. 4. Partner with family stakeholders and community organizations in pursuit of each of the above areas.
