Summary:
|
Albemarle County Public Schools (ACPS) frequently utilizes professional Architectural/Engineering (A/E) term contracts for small capital projects such as investigations, studies, reports, design of projects, and related services. Term contracts are valid for one (1) year with up to three (3) one-year renewals. ACPS’ most recent A/E term contracts for architectural/engineering services and structural engineering are set to expire in April 2024 and must be re-solicited. These term contracts will allow ACPS to contract with A/E firms who will expediently provide services for projects of varying size and scope, reducing RFP development/implementation costs and increasing operational efficiency in the engagement of professional services. The purpose and intent of this RFP is to solicit proposals for a maximum of four (4) Term Contracts each for Architectural/Engineering Services and Structural Engineering to be provided on an "as needed" basis pursuant to Task Orders issued during the contract term.
Based on School Board Policy FEA- Facility Design, an Architectural/Engineering Selection Committee is to be appointed jointly by the School Board and the Superintendent, when the fee for such services may exceed $100,000. As such, staff recommends the following members of the Architectural/Engineering Selection Committee:

Sheila Hoopmann, Senior Project Manager of Design & Engagement
April Newton, Project Manager/Project Inspector
Caitlyn Wetzel, Management Analyst II

Funding:
|
Term contracts are valid for one (1) year with up to three (3) one-year renewals. Funding for services provided under these contracts shall be contingent upon capital funding for FYs 25-29.

Recommendation:
|
It is recommended that the proposed A/E Selection Committee be approved to meet and select A/E firms for the ACPS Architectural/Engineering term contracts.
