Re-Appropriation Request.pdf
Summary: Bids were recently received for the High School Center II and Southern Feeder Pattern Elementary School projects. Despite diligent cost management, approximately $1.3M in additional funding is needed to construct the base scope for both projects and an additional $2.76M in funding is necessary to construct several bid additive items, including: Construction of three additional classrooms at the elementary school to meet the 500-student capacity goal. Installation of a second elevator in both schools to ensure adequate accessibility and meet ACPS School Board facility objectives. Implementation of photovoltaic systems at both sites to support the County's Climate Action goals and to potentially realize net-zero buildings.
Funding: Staff proposes requesting the Board of Supervisors to re-appropriate FY 25 funds as detailed in the attached document and as summarized below: $450,000 from the Crozet Elementary School Addition and Renovation project $107,477 from the Red Hill Elementary Phase 2: Additions & Improvements project $2,300,000 from the CIP-Maintenance fund Additionally, $1,200,000 will be needed in FY 26 to fully complete the projects . Staff recommend that these current projects be prioritized over other projects in the FY 26-30 CIP Request to fund the remaining anticipated need.
Recommendation: Recommendation: Approve the request for the Board of Supervisors to re-appropriate the funds as outlined in the attachment and add $1,200,000 to the FY 26-30 CIP Request.
